The Executor’s Friend Process
Initial Consultation Stage
When we first connect, we will have a 30-minute complimentary call in person or virtually where I will give you an overview of my services and you can decide if working with Executor’s Friend is something you feel would be helpful. If you decide that we should work together, we will move to the Information Organization Stage.
Information Organization Stage
During the organization gathering stage of the process we will organize your loved one’s Assets and Liabilities, their Key Contacts, both personal and professional, and we will create an inventory of Important Documents and most importantly, where they are located. We will determine the current market values of assets and balances of any debts and who will need to be contacted when the time comes. All sources of income will be recorded and recurring payments will be noted so that we can cancel anything that needs to be discontinued during the settlement of the estate. When we are done you will receive your Executor’s Friend binder with all of the information in one place along with reference materials, best practices, tips, and a glossary of helpful estate terms.
Regular Reviews
While your loved one is still with us we will perform regular reviews of the information. As the executor, you will be given secure on-line access to your loved one’s Executor’s Friend profile if you wish to make changes yourself periodically or we can meet to review the details together.
Estate Settlement Stage
When the time comes for you to keep the promises that you made to your loved one we will be there to help guide you through your duties beginning with the notification of friends and family, to arranging the funeral all the way to the final steps if obtaining a CRA Clearance Certificate and finally closing the Estate Bank Account.
